El Tendedero
An installation inspired by my stay with my parents during their annual visit back home in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico in March 2024. We stay in the house my dad built with his own two hands over the span of nearly twenty years. While I only visited for one week, my parents are there for nearly three months. Every year, their stay in the motherland grows longer. While over there, I documented their present day lives and stories of their past, using the house itself and objects within it as guidance. Through this installation, I share bits and pieces of my familial history via garments, accessories, printed photographs and Polaroids, sounds, and other objects.
At the end, this installation serves as an homage to my parents and all they’ve done for their children.
