I started this limited-series podcast to make space for woman-identifying artists to share themselves, their craft, and to nurture community.

I recorded most episodes at Radio Espacio in Boyle Heights.

LA based, DJ Helikonia and DJ Funky Caramelo, both share stories about their upbringings and how those have shaped who they are becoming today. Helikonia shares how she balances her corporate job in change management while running Intersessions in LA - an organization that sets up workshop series with artist run seminars aimed to address the significant gender and sexuality based imbalance within the music industry. Funky Caramelo shares how she chose to take a leap and transition into the music industry after working as a social justice advocate within immigrant rights for so many years.

Alyssa N. Griego, is a queer Chicanx author and director. We were the first interview she did after publishing her poetry book,  Sad Girl Strong Woman. Alyssa shares with us how she turned a heartbreak into a work of art by walking us through her creative process. We talk through many topics that appear in the book such as love, generational trauma, womanhood, and much more. You can hear Alyssa read one of her poems at the end of the interview.

Liz Alcazar, a baker and cake artist based in Santa Ana, CA. Liz talks to us about how she balances her day job as an American Sign Language interpreter at a community college and her cake and baking business known as Peace and Cakes. She walks us through her creative process, from the idea, to the sketch, to the actual baking. We also talk about important topics to her that have made appearances in her cakes, such as women empowerment, and racial equality.
